I just sold my old Mac mini and purchased a new one (mid tier 2.6). My old mini was a server model where I had replaced one of the 500GB HDD with a 256GB SSD (boot drive). I kept the 256GB SSD to use in my new mini as the boot drive. I have all of my info/files still on it. How should I go about the swap?

Ordinarily, you could just swap the drives and be off, but the new Mini uses a custom built of Mountain Lion 10.8.2, so that won't work.

I would put the old SSD in an external enclosure then start the new system and use Migration Assistant to pull in your data from the SSD. Then after verifying that worked okay, use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the new Mini HDD to the SSD... then do the drive swap.
