I am a fan of the Apple Magic Keyboard. The version with Touch ID is nice.

Which do you prefer? Chiclet like Apple Magic Keyboard? Or mechanical, like a Keychron?

I have both. I prefer the Apple. Mech keyboards slow me down.

I'm the opposite, I've replaced my Magic keyboard with a Keychron 4 (brown switches). Love the feel/sound, and I think my accuracy is better (slower, but I'm retired, so...)

Are you going to use the M1 Air in Clamshell mode? If so, you will lose Touch ID with any third party mechanical keyboard.

You can keep Touch ID in Clamshell with the Apple Keyboard with Touch ID.

I use a smaller first-generation Magic Keyboard with my MacBook Air in when running in Clamshell mode. I don't use Touch ID, so it's not much of an issue for me. I am considering getting a later version with the black keys and numeric keypad, though.
