Best wireless mouse for the Mac Studio?

I was looking for a wireless mouse for the Mac Studio and was wondering what was considered the best option. I currently have the Logitech G502 Hero, but I've been using my Magic Trackpad instead because it is wireless. What are some people's favourites? Is the Magic Mouse worth it? Or something else?

I got a Studio a few weeks ago and am using the Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Vertical Wireless Trackball (K75326WW) from my Windows PC. I like that I can just hit a switch to toggle between the two machines.

Before the Kensington, I had a Logitech M570 trackball. It was great, but the button switches wore out after a couple of years. I chose the Kensington after reading that it uses more durable switches. After about 2.5 years of daily use, they're still going strong. However, the scroll wheel optical sensor appears to be failing because it jumps a lot, even with a fresh battery.

I love trackball mice, but each one seems to have its flaws.

I still use the Logitech trackball since 2005 - my second one since first one cable got chewed. I tried newer ones and also apple mouse but the trackball is better for my hands. I keep a wireless regular microsoft one on the side for others to use. Logitech Trackball

I use a Logitech M705, a cheap and reliable mouse. Have had it for some years with no problems.

I've been using the Logitech M510 for a very long time. I have the dongle running on a USB extension cable off a monitor hub so that it's line of sight to the mouse for best performance. I like the M500 for wired because it really supports my hand well. These are fairly cheap mice.

There’s nothing about a Mac Studio that makes the choice of mouse unique to that model computer, so you’d likely get better information by asking more broadly about what mice people use with Macs.

The great thing about studio or mini is you can go whatever keyboard/mouse combo works best for you. For me this was a Logitech MX mouse and Keychron K8 keyboard with MX Brown switches.

I use the same mouse on all my desktops and always use a keyboard with MX Brown switches.

Good point. A lot of reviewers and other people don't like that they don't come with them. But I'm not a fan of Apple keyboards and especially mice. They seem overpriced. So I appreciate the freedom to buy what I prefer.

The main complaint about the mini, and, maybe the Studio, was Bluetooth performance. And the metal case may be a factor there. If you are willing to go dongle, you should be fine, and this opens up a lot of possibilities.

Excuse my entering the Mac Studio space (I have one of those evil Mac Pros), but I really like the Microsoft mouse above. It has a great comfortable shape.

Only thing I don't like is that it goes to sleep too frequently. IMO, Apple should not bother doing any kind of mouse, in my experience they've never done them very well for a long time.

I just find that Logitech maintains their G Hub software for use with all their gaming mice very well. While they make a lot of types of Mice the 502 series has been great. I can spin the center wheel to scroll up/down very fast and they are comfortable to use for hours. I am currently using macOS 13.2 beta with a G502 Hero. Don't overlook gaming mice when you are deciding on whats the best wired or wireless mouse to use with any Mac.

No problem with my keyboard using Bluetooth. For the mouse I use a dongle.

Logitech mouse user here -- for many years.

However, I DO NOT use the Logitech driver software.
Instead, I use either "SteerMouse" or "USB Overdrive".
Both are small, lightweight utilities that work very well.

Seems like this should be a Logitech thread. I'm fairly pleased that the vast majority seem to be using Logitech mice as I made that determination about 12 years ago after trying a lot of different mice at the time. Logitech just seems to have put a lot more effort than the other players. I have a magic mouse and it's innovative but it's just not ergonomic for me. I do sometimes take it in my backpack because it is so small but I'd rather use Logitech for heavy usage.

Look at popular wireless 502 Hero , it's very ergonomic. It was on sale for $90 recently but is going back to its list price, check online discounts.

I'm familiar with it as it's what my daughter uses. My favorites are the M500 and M510, though, and I have a 10-year supply of them.

The logitech scroll wheels are excellent, I have a Logitech Craft keyboard/mouse set and the mouse was excellent. The right click eventually failed after a very long time but the whole thing was great.
