So i just recieved my bestskinsever skin. My question is, after reading the instructions i am a little wary of the fact that you soak the skin in water solution before you adhere it. Will the water not ruin my macbook??? Can anyone please give me advice on this ASAP??

I imagine the water helps getting the air bubbles out. I don't believe there should be a problem, just don't put it on when there's still water dripping off of it. Also make sure you wipe off any water that happens to come out from underneath the skin when you put it on.
That way it won't drip into a vent or anything like that.

I've done a half-dozen on these on iPods and BlackBerrys. You dip it in the water solution, shake it gently to get any large clusters of water off of it, and then apply. It does need to be completely moist. That relatively small amount of water though is not going to damage your MacBook. Just make sure it's off (of course), the battery is removed, and don't let any water get in the vents. Once you squeegee out the water from under the skin wipe it off immediately.
I've never seen a MacBook skin in person, but I would assume it has a cutout piece for the battery. If not, that's a pretty bad design. My BlackBerry skin from them had a separate piece for the battery door so you could still swap batteries.
I just put one of these on my gorgeous new macbook a couple of days ago. Yes, there is a seperate piece of material for the battery. Be warned, the top part is exceptionally difficult to put on especially if you do not have enough of the water solution on it (otherwise, it will stick to itself and anything else it gravitates to). It's pretty frustrating, but worth it. Also, do wait the 24 hour period. I didn't, and when I was playing on it, the battery warmed the material and now it's a bit bubbly where the battery is. Oh well.
No, they are literally the exact same material. The InvisibleShield comes with a lifetime warranty, but I think if your skin gets that screwed up (and none of mine ever have) you can just buy another from BestSkinsEver.
I just applied a full body skin (from BSE) to my new macbook. It is a pain in the $$$ to get on "correct" but like everyone else says it's well worth it. Nine months ago I applied a BSE skin to my Vision M. Nine moths later the skin has not peeled and my V:M looks like new. My advice is with a skin this big...use two people, keep a dry towel close buy, and take your time.

- soak the entire skin in the water with mild soap solution. I recommend you soak it and peal in the water from the backing! Otherwise, any dust/lint/whatnot that touches the skin while it's dry will stick forever!
- have paper towels handy. I recommend putting them around the macbook. Even in the cracks (to soak up any extra water)
- work fast!
I just did mine, and my only problem is that there seems to be some water bubbles stuck between the shield and the macbook! I've squeegeed it well, but it seems the bubbles formed over night. Anyone know how long before they're gone (if at all?)

When I put mine on, it took a few days for all of those small bubbles to disappear. I had so many of them on mine that I thought that I did a crappy job but it didn't turn out to be the case. Don't worry about the water so much, and definitely have some paper towels handy if you're that worried.
Update: 36 hours later, and a lot of the bubbles are GONE! about 20% are still there, but they seem to be air bubbles now. Will give it a couple more days to clear up.

I am not sure if bestskinever and invisible sheids are the same thing, i have used both and at first i thought they were the same thing, but then i noticed bestkinever STAIN very easily and u can't get rid of the stains either. maybe it's just me...
When I applied my shieldzone skin I had a few annoying large bubbles. What I did was get a sewing/dressmakers pin and made a *very* small hole in the bubbles and gently squeezed the water/air out of them. The hole is so small you won't be able to see it after the water has be removed.
The mistake I made before I tried the pin trick was trying to squeegee out the bubbles. All that did was deform/stretch the skin and now I can see small 'ripples' where the bubbles were Hope someone can learn from my mistakes

I bought the Invisible Shield (same thing with BestSkinsEver, only MUCH more expensive and has free-replacements), applied it on my MBP and Apple Remote. I found it the most difficult to place on the side of the MBP and Apple Remote- took me some time to keep the plastic stay on.
Few tips:
- spray both sides of the shield with the solution. I also sprayed my fingers because I think I read online that you may leave fingerprints on the shield if the fingers that handled the shield are dry.
- If you didn't place the sheid in the desire position, only peel it off while the shield is still wet. I make sure that I spray a lot on the shield so that I can peel and replace the sheild more times before the final place is set. (I don't want to stretch the plastic so I avoid peeling it once it sticks pretty well onto the surface)
- For the invisible shield, there are 2 small holes for the tiny screws at the back of the MBP. Don't forget to place them correctly before you settle the shield. (I didn't notice the 2 tiny holes until it was way too late)
- I got a lint free cloth ready to wipe the surface of the item I was going to place the Invisible Shield on and to wipe off the excess solution.
