So, I come home from work, pop my phone on charge, nothing crazy unusual there. It's at roughly 55% when I take it off and go watch tv. My phone sits on my coffee table, locked, doing nothing. I head off to bed and my battery is showing 6%.. it isn't warm, nothing has been running, but it's dead.

Never had anything like this in a beta before! Anyone had similar...?!

Sounds like Apple reverses the performance "trend" in beta by providing mediocre performance in odd number beta to even number, and odd number beta hits both battery and performance in one stroke.

I have pretty much normal usage... I'm connected to wifi about 70% of my day... and with beta 2 on my 6S Plus, I'm sitting at 61% remaining battery with just over 16 hours standby and 7:10 usage. I am satisfied with the battery performance so far.

iPad Pro 9.7 draining 23% in an hr, beta2
Seems fine on standby, but when using it draining too fast.
But it is.a beta

No issues here, anytime I've had battery drain like that, I've closed out of all of my apps, rebooted the device, opened settings and looked at the battery to see what the hog was. Twitter was a top offender for me on my first day, after closing it out, it calmed down. Not sure what was up, probably some stuck background thread.

Tried that, but my top offender was Mail with 10%. Spotify was up there, but I hadn't actually used it for some 4hrs prior to charging the phone.

Not quite as bad, but iOS 10 beta 1 left me super cautious. Am using 64GB 6S and am curious to read over the responses to your query already posted.

I guess I'm only a couple of days into the beta, it's been fine other than that. It could be a random isolated issue, but I guess it's too early to tell yet. I'll keep my battery stats updated on this thread for anyone who's interested.

Mine was bad the first day or two I figured it was a runaway app. Now it's fine. I think the battery percentage or display is also broken. Mine will drop incredibly fast. But then get stuck at 30% or 1% for a long time.

Anything in the log files showing certain apps constantly crashing, or perhaps issues with wireless bands or something?

I have found it DOES take a few days to iron out the battery life.. I think there is some sort of re-indexing going on.

I'm getting massive battery drain here as well, it seems to be much worse when I've got my Apple Watch connected for some reason!

I've done a restore on both phone and watch to no avail!

the photos app is eating my battery like crazy. the stats show it has been running 11+ hours in the background for the past 24. also my standby time is showing the same as the usage time.

It is all done on the device, the new photos feature. So it's probably just doing its magic. After a week you will know if that's normal draining or something else.

This is what I got today - roughly 9hrs off the charger, now down to 16%. Ugh!

I had a lot of battery drain the first two days after installing the beta but it's levelled out a bit. There's still more of a battery drop than normal but it actually gets me through the day now instead of needing to be recharged twice in a day.

FWIW, after following the suggestion to reset my settings (ugh), my battery life is much (much) better. It was tedious. I had naturally backed up the state and settings but .... still. Yet, it was worth it. What's more, there are some positive side effects, besides more battery life. Colours and other visuals are enhanced, for instance.

Lesson: iOS 10 is a serious departure from routine updates. There will be issues. If doing normal, usual things does not seem to work, then reset the device, though be sure, first, to back it up, both to iCloud and locally (encrypted).

My experience with my iPad, it took a bit of sluggy behavior for 15 minutes, which ate 5% battery. After that it operated as usual. No issues for me.

mine was at 69% by the time i made it to work this morning lol so roughly an hour of usage. I just got home from work and its again down to 62% (after a full charge)

FWIW, my phone says
Usage: 2:47
Standby 68:02

59% battery left and the phone was last time charged on Tue. That's a 6 plus.
