Just wondering how everyone's machines are running on beta 3. I have noticed that its significantly slower than B1,B2. both my MBP and MM are chugging doing even basic things a lot of the time. in activity monitor it seems to be a out of control spindump process taking a lot of CPU and activity monitor us using around 70 percent of my cpu which seems high for that app. battery life is around a hour and a half so thats dropped for me.

Also forgot to add, SMB performance is horrible. I have an external Thunderbolt drive shared over my network and usually will give me around 90-100MB/s read and writes over ethernet and with B3 its around 5-10MB/s. when restarting my MacBook Pro ive noticed that the past couple of times the Touch Bar icons are all bright green and when getting a call all the colors seem very muted.

spindump usually fires if something is detected to hang to collect diagnostics. But it seems like it might not be behaving properly, since it shouldn't be taking that much CPU. I'm not seeing anything like what you are seeing. IN fact Activity monitor seems to be pulling a little less CPU than it normally does on 10.15 for me.

I've had to install B3 clean though, since it refused to update over B2. So I don't know if the update process borked something for you.

Networking in this case can get choked out by aggressive CPU usage like you are seeing above. I'm getting usual speeds out my QNAP NAS over SMB, so it's possible that whatever is eating your CPU is also causing other issues. I'd bet you are currently seeing bad perf in apps that can put the machine under heavy load too.

It got a little better once the Spindump process died down but Im still having issue with SMB performance. I know this is a beta and bugs are to be expected but some of this seems off even for a beta. im going to wait until B4 and if it doesn't seem to improve much then ill probably wipe and start with a fresh install.
