I installed the Beta Big Sur a few months ago and have had issues when connecting to my tv. When I am finished streaming a movie or sporting event, the screen freezes and I must restart. I finally got tired of it and reinstalled the public version OS11.2.3 and Safari was not installed. I downloaded it twice and the Beta version of Safari is on the drive but cannot be used because it requires 11.3. Any suggestions?

You need to erase the disk in order to downgrade the operating system. Otherwise, as you saw, not all components revert back to the release version.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I tried restoring a previous Safari app from Time Machine but it didn’t work. I have erased the disk and am reinstalling the last Public version of Big Sur now.

Update: All is restored, connecting and restoring from the Time Machine drive took forever. Thankfully, I ran TM yesterday and I'm back to normal. Funny, I streamed to my TV and it didn't freeze when I was finished.

Did your TM backup from being on the beta actually restore to the device after you reverted to a non-beta version?

The only issue I have found is the Music Library, it will not sync to my devices. I imagine that will be remedied when the Public Release is out.
