Been working well forever... latest beta began throwing this error. It's quite possible that it is not beta related.

Any ideas?

Logs are not of much help

Is that the first time you've seen a TM error for that file? It's an odd file name and I wonder if that's part of the problem. If you exclude that file, does it back up successfully?

Same error and managed to complete the Time Machine backup with success following a reboot.

Same error for me. The current beta has been pretty much rock solid aside from this error and an inconsistent battery drain, which looks to be caused by spotlight doing something, and an inaccurate battery indicator when charging.

I have the same error on this beta - and it even displays the same weird filename that you are seeing.

For me this time machine bug unfortunately still appears on today's developer beta 4 release.

Same here. Using Backup Blaze and local mirroring, also but would like TM to work because, well you know...

Hey, thanks. I'll have to try that. Can't hurt. Ah, the joys of running in clamshell mode...

Same error here. I was running Beta 3, and everything was running smoothly, but since updating to Beta 4, I'm also getting this.

I've gone through multiple web searches on finding this "%@" file but have not made any progress. Spotlight and Terminal will not return any useful results.

There's hope that this will be fixed in the next one or two betas. Feedback Assistant says:

Time Machine / backupd fail: The file "%@" could not be backed up.

Hey guys, I just fixed this last week. I have OneDrive installed on my Mac, and I interrupted its sync once. Apparently it bumped some corrupted file, which leaded to this issue. Once I excluded OneDrive folder from TimeMachine the issue never happened again.
