I posted this in the Watch Beta forum earlier but thought it ought to be here as well.

Having had to unpair my Watch (on the 10.0 beta) from an iPhone (on the 17.0 beta) which had a hardware fault I find that I cannot re-pair it with the replacement iPhone. Even though the iPhone is now running the same 17.0 beta. The problem is that many of the stock Apple apps do not fully install on the Watch. I think my only solution is to put the iPhone back on iOS 16 and get my local Apple Store to downgrade the Watch.

I am not complaining. Just pointing out the unseen pitfalls of running a beta.

Typically 5 hours after my post in the Watch forum all of the apps suddenly downloaded so perhaps there was a glitch at Apple’s end.

However I still cannot add credit cards to the Watch Wallet.

Sounds like you're not having the best time.

One has to be aware of the shortcomings of running betas prior to installing them.
And honestly, for a vast majority - the bugs and short comings far outweigh the short term excitement of running the beta.

I am running 17, and have restored 2 times already back to 16. I think it has reached a level of stability i am able to go about my day to day without having to pull my hair out - but I am very aware that issues may/will arise. And it will be only my fault for taking that risk, and installing the beta in the first place :)

Here is what I found. during re-pairing the Watch asks “setup Apple Pay or do this later in Wallet? Initially I chose ”Later” but then trying to add a credit card always threw up an error. When I selected “Now” my default card was added to the Watch instantly and others could then be added later.
