Hi guys,

We are n00bs when it comes to releasing software for the iPhone and now have a couple of apps we want to put out. The issue we are having is we would like to do this silly thing called testing first. The problem is that we found no way for a tester to install the software without first installing the full SDK. Is there any other way around this other than signing up for an additional ad-hoc account?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

You can provision up to 99 ad hoc beta test devices (plus your own device, I assume) from just your one paid developer account.

The ad hoc testers don't need an iPhone developer account or the SDK, just iTunes, plus a device for which you know the UID. But, if they sign up for the free developer account, they can also test your app using the iPhone simulator, if the app doesn't require any device specific features.

Sorry. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. We do not have the ad hoc account, but the normal $99 commercial account. We can't find any way for somebody to be able to install an app unless they also install the SDK. I know you can get around that with an ad hoc account but is there a way around it with the $99 account?

I suggest you read the documentation in the developer portal.

The $99 developer program has ad hoc capability.

Check the documentation for info on setting it up.
