Cifs/smb

Some common questions people have asked us. We have tried to answer these and other common questions on our website (check out the FAQs in the support page).

1. What is CIFS/SMB?
-------------------------

This is the native file sharing protocol used by most Windows operating systems for file and printer sharing.
You just right click on a folder and turn on sharing. ezShare will automatically pick it up and you can browse and view the files on that folder (or share).

In MAC OSX, you can go to System Preferences -> Sharing -> File Sharing and turn on "SMB". You can also choose which folder(s) you want to share.

In Linux, you need to install SAMBA (Open source, Free).

2. Does 'ezShare' stream mp3 files stored on my computer?
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, ezShare will play mp3 files right from your computer. In fact it will browse your current folder and play all the mp3 songs one after the other.

Please do not hesitate to ask us any questions. In fact we can make the product better with your feedback.

Hi,
You need 2.2 or 2.2.1.

ezShare has not been ported to 3.0 yet.

Thank you all.
We did not expect such an overwhelming response.
Please bear with us while we sort out all the emails.

Folks who have received replies from us should get a build this week.

ezShare v1.0 was released this week. We have been busy with some post release work and a couple of bug fixes. Sorry for the delay.
