Hey guys, I'm reaching out here because I know there were discussions on it before so I've been given the task of finding a few good beta testers. The application is for golfers and offers scoring as well as gps distances from any point on the course. This is only open up to a few people and these people are expected to test the application on real courses and give quality feedback. If you're interested please post a reply in this thread and let me know two things.

A.) What courses you would want to test on.
B.) How many times a week on average you play golf.

Thanks.

Here is a movie showing the app as it stands currently. Ignore the distance, the course I chose is on the other size of the US so the yardage is a little far away. :)

I would love to test, but since I only play once every two or 3 weeks, I wouldn't be of much help. Especially since I think apple limits the number of testers.

really cool offer. I'm sure you'll find some people who will fall all over themselves to beta test this. (I would be one of them if I had a 3G iPhone, but alas, still stuck with the Edge one).

I would like to test this out. Currently I play 3-4 times a week at a few golf courses in the Portland, OR area. Currently using Teeshot so would like to see a good GPS implementation.

What courses do you play, I will look up to see if we have the courses mapped.

I would love to test this application. I have tried and tested Greenfinder and vCaddy and would have a good comparison perspective. I wrote a review which you can see in this forum.

https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/6056655/

I play 1-2 times a week, am a 10 handicap, and mostly in New York. I am playing this weekend at Spook Rock Golf Club in Suffern, NY. I also routinely play at Lido Golf Club, Bethpage (Black and red), Centennial Golf Club, Harbor Links, Rockland State Park (Championship course).

If you have Spook rock, i could test on saturday and also give you feedback compared to the other two apps.

Let me know.

I'll help you out if you have courses in Harrisburg, PA mapped. I mostly play Colonial Country Club and Dauphin Highlands, but play others around here occasionally. I normally get out once or twice a week. With the weather like it is, I'm definitely getting out a few times in the next few days.

I'm in to test this

I'm down to test this for you guys. I currently have vCaddy and have used it a couple of times. I live in CO and play pretty often.

I'd be willing to help

Hi, I'd love to test the app out. I just picked up Greenfinder so I'd be willing to give side by side comparisons. I usually play once or twice a week around Southern California. The courses I play most often are Oak Creek in Irvine, Arroyo Trabuco in Mission Viejo, Arrowood in Oceanside, Twin Oaks in San Marcos. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

i would love to try this out. I currently beta test other applications, not just "golf" related apps.

I play every weekend and at least once or twice a week on the range. I can definitely assist with beta'ng this.

I do have Greenfinder and Teeshot in my arsenal but always open for other products to try or improve!

let me know.

Hey guys/gals we made the decision last night to not beta test per say but instead release the app for FREE*. :D So, the app should be hitting the store in a couple weeks(waiting on Apple) and in the mean time if you plan on using it with a 3G phone and want your course mapped with GPS you can map it yourself(it's really easy) and you have two weeks to do it. ;)

Here are instructions on how to map a course, read them over and feel free to ask any questions. If you map your course and send it in your course will be ready to download once the app hits the store. Obviously the more accurate and more information you include in the map the better your experience will be out on the course.

Also, if you have any suggestions or ideas you would like to see in the app feel free to let me know.

Sounds great. Look forward to testing the app.

Are you guys going to post courses that have been mapped on your website? This way, people do not spend their time mapping courses that have already been mapped.

Thanks

Duh, I'm an idiot, good point. :D I will post a link up later today.

you should tweeke it for frisbee golf and release the same app under a different name, but make support for 9, 18, 24, and 27 holes, it should be easy since all holes in disc golf are par 3s. Nobody has down this yet.

I would love to help you out. I play 2-3 times a week in Ponte Vedra Beach and Tallahassee, Florida. Here is a list of the courses I regularly play:

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
1) Ponte Vedra Club Ocean Course
2) ponte Vedra Club Lagoon Course
3) T.P.C. Valley Course
4) T.P.C. Stadium Course

Tallahassee, FL
5) Don Veller Seminole Golf Course
6) Summerbrooke
7) Hilaman Golf Course

Let me know if you'd like my help.

I am a business man so I tend to play on the weekends with customers and stuff. I generally play in the Atlanta, GA area and surrounding cities. I also travel to Myrtle Beach in the fall for some golf so would love to test this out!

beta testers wanted

I would love to test out a golf GPS. I golf between 2 and 3 times a week (retired :D). What do I have to do? I play most of the courses in the Butler, Pittsburgh area, and some in eastern Ohio.

That thread has been dead for over a year....it's a pretty good bet they don't need beta testers now.
