So Chaps: To bring all the Mini debate together, Will or wont be see a huge upgrade at MWSF?

Mac mini slightly upgrade to penryn cpu?
Mac Mini updated parts but same design?
New Design?
Apple Tv and Mac Mini together?

(Oh and additional question, if you buy the latest Mini revision, what type of Hard drive connector is it, do u need a sata or pata hard drive if i replaced it?)

You got it all wrong!!

It's not an update, it's going to be called the 'Mac nano' that comes in white, the trademark colour and black- with a brand new all-metal design and a glossy front surface, then next year we'll get the 2nd gen 'Mac nano' which will come in colours and be slightly thinner, with a matte finish instead of the glossy finish.

Did I mention the entire top of the system is a touch sensitive track pad?

Then the year after we'll get the 3rd gen which will be thinner, all metal and come in different colours but it will be shorter and slightly wider to fit the new, bigger hard drive and video card for greater video capabilities.

:D

Amirite?

Mac Mini, along with MacBook and iMac, are Apple's most recently updated lines.

Later in the year though, I do expect to see the Mac Mini and :apple:tv converge, because they're the same damn thing.

erm, no. they bear a resemblance to each other, but one is a real computer and the other is a silly little device for streaming video.

and no, i don't think they will see an update at mwsf. apple completely neglects the mini, so you can probably expect it to go SR when most other macs have penryn.

Oh, thank you for clearing that up for me. All they need to do to the Mini is include Component and HDMI outputs, slim it down a little (perhaps internalise the power supply?) and they could pretty much take the :apple:tv off the market.
