I know that there is no software out there that makes this true, or any other outlier for the matter that improves battery life after jailbreaking

But I swear I have an improved battery since I jailbroke my 3g iphone (2.1)

Before jailbreaking, I would consume a decent amount of my battery. I listen to music a decent amount, watch videos (parts) every so often, constantly checking and responding to emails, and am constantly using safari on 3g network. In a given week, approximately 3 times I would use it to where the 10% notification comes up. I charge it every night. I never charge during the day.

After jailbreaking, it has only been a couple of days now, but I haven't even came across the 20% notification. I sitll use it in the same way I did before, but even more-so now. I'm constantly changing/altering my springboard, customizing the apps names' and what not. Basically, I use a lot more than I did previously and think I have better battery life

Anyone else have/think similar results? or am I being subject to the placebo effect

You typically experience a decrease in battery life after jailbreaking because of a few additional background processes.

Right after jailbreaking my battery was draining quickly, but then it stabilized. I ended up removing Installer. I don't know if there was a process that was draining the battery, but my battery life is very good now.

Mine seems about the same.

Then again, 2.1 was supposed to have better battery life, and I was only jailbroken on 2.0 for a very short time before the 2.1 update came out.

It could be that whatever battery improvements that came from 2.1 were offset by the additional background processes of being jailbroken.

I thought the same thing. But I haven't suffered any decrease in battery like others reported
