Maybe some of you can relate to the problem I have. Please see my attached image.

So, the problem used to just be that I have all these folders for places notes and todo items can go, even though I only want them to exist on MobileMe. They used to just be on my Mac, but with the introduction of note syncing, I had to start using my MobileMe account. Fine, I'll live with the clutter.

But when iCal changed to using CalDAV, all my todos moved into the CalDAV MobileMe account, so that they sync with the calendars/categories setup in iCal and the MobileMe website. But CalDAV MobileMe is different than IMAP MobileMe, which is where my notes must go.

So now, I have all these different folders in Mail. But if in my settings I tell it to save new notes and todos in "MobileMe", new todo items go into the IMAP todo folder instead of the CalDAV. Thus, I have to set it to create them in whatever folder I'm in, and make sure I click inside the right one first.

This is a MESS. Very un-Apple like, and I can't imagine the more non-computer savvy users could figure it out. Someone please tell me this has been fixed in Lion??

Notes Is Fixable

Well actually u can fix notes without being in lion. Just right click on all the non MobileMe notes folders and delete them. Everyone of them except MobileMe and you'll get one unified Notes Folder. But make sure u combine all the notes from all the folders into the MobileMe notes folder. I figured this out actually the other day, but I'm not sure whether I was running Lion or Snow Leopard, I was actually resetting up all my Apps right before I installed Lion, and then re going into them and resetting them up the best way in Lion after I installed it. Plus its been a really long week for me, thats why I can't remember. But see picture, showing unified Notes, in the all new Mail App.

And as for Todos, I use third party's for my Todos not really a big fan of Apples Todos feature, so I can't really help u out there.

I've erased Notes folders in the past and they always seem to, eventually, reappear. But I'll give it another shot.

Can anybody give any insight into how this works on Lion? I get WHY it's happening on Snow Leopard--two different types of servers are setup. Just can't find any way to fix it. And I see now way to erase unwanted todo folders like you can with Notes.

This is what mine looks like (using Snow Leopard) but I am glad it is more unified now.

Ok, I got mine down to essentially the same thing. But I still have two To Do folders that both say myname@me.com.

Anybody on Lion that can investigate this?
