Better to get an iPad and MacBook air than 1tb iPad

I did the math and realize that if any of you actually are willing to get an ipad pro 1tb and a smart keyboard also consider getting both an entry level MacBook air and an 256 gb iPad pro instead

The cost believe it or not is not that significantly higher than buying just a 1tb iPad air + keyboard. I know it sounds crazy but put both options in your cart and have your mind blown.

Obviously peoples preferences are different...but I feel this combo may actually be better for me than getting an iPad pro 1tb along with the keyboard case which i really dislike.

It works out even better if you have an education discount since you can get 50 dollar off both the air and the iPad.

I originally wanted to get the 1tb pro (especially because of the extra 2 gb ram) but after seeing the reviews about the limitations of ios. I think having both the air and the pro is a pretty good middle ground...

Rule of thumb for Apple products: The lower storage-tier you buy, the more you get for your money.

Some people might have a specific demand for 1TB, but you sure as hell also pay the premium of premiums.

There are still things I can’t comfortably do on my iPad. I will take it as my “only” computing device when traveling for a few days on business, but if its going to be longer than that I’ll also take my Mac. Used to be a MacBook, but I just bought the new 2018 MBA to replace that.

Your use case may vary obviously. But Apple sure seems to charge a hefty premium for more memory and for me, with LTE and WiFi on the iPad, cloud storage seems to be fine.

"Best" is obviously subjective, but this is for me as well. iMac at my home office, 2018 iPad for on-the-go... add the Citrix X1 mouse to my iPad and use Jump Desktop to access my iMac remotely. wonderful.

It’s not really that subjective when a MacBook Pro offers performance close to an iMac and at the same time portability. You can always attach it to an external monitor and use it as a desktop. The iPhone of course makes perfect sense because it is the device you carry everywhere and is the go to device for everything these days.

The iMac and the iPad are actually niche devices because they have loads of limitations compared to a MBP or an iPhone but very few benefits that are more quality of life related and only appeal to specific groups of people (video/photo editors, artists etc).
