I just received a bill for $1,000 worth of data charges (automatically downloading email, internet use, etc.)

Be careful everyone! If you go abroad, deactivate your email accounts!

Ouch, that is one expensive bill. Hopefully you can call AT&T and have at least some of it taken off.

I know someone who spent a fortune when he went to France for two weeks and had his Blackberry checking e-mail (I think every 8 minutes)...there should be a warning when you enter high-charge areas with push e-mail...
