The chrome bezel scratches easy! I have been super careful with mine I even have the incase rubber skin on it most of the time and somehow i managed to but a small scratch on the bezel near the bottom by the charging port. Maybe when I was inserting it in the dock. All im saying is WATCH OUT!

I have a plastic case on mine that I put on right after I got it.

So I am protected for now. My only problem is it does not work with the dock.

I got scratches after I had it with the Incase rubber case

I even returned the Incase and switched it to Speck Tough skin but now I got a big one at the top where the bezel is exposed. Any clue on how to remove these scratches.

Best to accept the scratches and move on

If the screen is not scratched then no worries...All the cases I have seen cover the entire phone anyway....Dust is like a sandblaster though...Gets under the case and with a little rubbin theres your scratch

oh well first hairline scratch on screen. if i keep this phone i better get a case now. still not sure.

TONS of dust got under the screen on mine. figures, i put it in my pocket... oh well.

Do you have to wait 24 hours after putting it on before using it (as they suggest on the iPod installation video)?

Did you find it easy to put on without any resulting bubbles?

Also, does it cover the silver bezel?

Make sure you guys are wiping vigorously with the included cloth before calling them scratches.

I really wish that there were a ShieldZone-type stick-on adherent plastic protector for just the *bezel* of the iPhone, because I'm not worried about the screen but we ALL know that the bezel of the phone is easily scratched chrome. That or some kind of hard protective coating... I'd try nail polish but I know that'd look like crap (and I'd be afraid of it or the remover damaging the black plastic where the antenna is packed at the bottom).

You MUST wait 24 hours to let any errant water that may have gotten inside the device dry out. I have 2 friends who fried their iPods by turning them on before they dry down period. The shield looks bad when first put on but tightens up while drying. Getting it on with no bubbles is pretty easy but getting it on with no errant dust or lint can prove to be hard, work in a very clean area with very clean hands. If there are tiny bubbles even after you squeegee the application fluid out you can push them to the edges with a thumbnail. Very small bubbles usually disappear after the surface firms up.

I have an IS on my iPod and on the screen of my old Nokia phone - the product is awesome and both devices are scratch free. That said, I pre-ordered one for my iPhone but cancelled the order once I got the phone. The feeling of the IS is slightly rubbery and I think it would diminish the tactile feeling of the iPhone screen.

Yes and no. I have a 30g iPod 5th gen (pre-5.5gen) and by the time I bought a new faceplate and scrollwheel a week ago and installed it, it was barely useable just from floating around in my pocket and messenger bag and a few drops. It was frustrating and embarrassing every time I'd look at it. It still worked of course, but it was just a crappy experience. And I've not quite had it 2 years now... the iPhone will be at least 2 years, with a LOT more usage than an iPod.
