How many of you have a mobile me account with an @me.com email address that syncs mail, contacts, calendar, etc. As well you may have an @mac.com e-mail address or other that you use for your iTunes account.

iCloud only recognizes one Apple ID. To my knowledge there is no way to combine accounts, so were all stuck.

I think the only choice is to pick between which is important to you, keeping all your music under your iTunes account and using that as you iCloud ID, or going with your e-mail, calendar, contacts ID that you get from MobileMe.

Big Conundrum!!

I am sure Apple will come up with a solution

there are many people with an iTunes store ID that is not there Mobile Me email address

plenty of time to see what happens

You can have a different account for Store purchases. This has always been true and is still true for iCloud. When you initially set it up it uses your cloud account for everything but that is just for simplicity. You can then go and change your account used for Store purchases and other options. There are at least 3 or 4 different places where you can use entirely different accounts.

This is exactly my dilemma. I am a dev so I downloaded the iOS 5 beta but was confused on how to handle my two Apple ID accounts with iCloud.

One is gmail (all my purchases from iTunes ever, 6+ years) and other is my MobileMe @me account. The MobileMe account has my email, contacts, and calendar events.

I don't understand how I should setup iCloud. I don't want to lose all of my purchases. I don't want to transfer over my MobileMe account to iCloud because that has no purchases associated with it.

EDIT: After reading on the dev forums a bit, it seems to be something I am going to wait on. Apple ID's are annoying and hopefully a nice merging process will be put together for those of us with MobileMe and a previous to that Apple ID account. Throwing in a third iCloud account just makes it so much more messy...

Same issue...

I have the same issue...I used an iTunes account with Yahoo! for years before getting an @me for mobile me...now 90% of my purchases are on the Yahoo iTunes account.

Recently I set everything to my @me account, but it misses all my old purchases...however, when I change back they show up (even helped me stuff I thought was lost forever in a hard drive crash a while back!)

It appears you can load everything on one device by synching both accounts, but I hope Apple let's you merge them somehow ultimately, 'cause it's a pain.

Anyone have any thought on how they'll address this issue, if at all?
