I just bought a cheap 'bricked' iPhone on eBay. It was a 1.0.2, and someone had accidently upgraded it and then tried to unlock it with AnySim 1.0. Had no idea it had the bad IMEI (0049) problem. I've tried everything to get it back, and unlocked, by downgrading and revirginising TWICE with no avail, and then I came across this...

So am I really at a dead end? Or is there something which definitely works? Even if I have to pay for it. Apparently it's something to do with seczones needing backup, but I have no idea how to do that. I really need someone to give me a definite answer. I'm at my wit's end with it now, as I thought every iPhone could be unbricked, but now it seems it isn't the case.

Would iPhoneSimFree solve this problem, or just make it into even more of a brick? Help :(
