Hi,
i‘m using a MacBook Air M1 with macOS Big Sur 11.2 and an Apple Watch 5 watchOS 7.3.

i want to unlock my Mac with my watch. When it’s first activated it works like a charm. but after a while the function is completely broken. Can't unlock the Mac or system settings anymore.

i‘ve to deactivate the function reboot the MacBook activate the function again and then it works for a few hours and breaks again.

Also the MacBook Air forgets my AirPods Pro frequently and I've to connect them manually after 2-3 days in the bluetooth settings.

I've already reseted the bluetooth module, delete all devices and paired them new but it don't solve the problem.

Anyone here with similar problems?

Same here on MacBook Air M1. My problems are with the AirPods Pro. They don't connect anymore after a while. A Bluetooth speaker did work however. I have multiple accounts on my Mac. After logging out the other accounts, suddenly my own account got restarted (all apps restarted to the state they where in when I left my account). And bluethooth with AirPods Pro worked again. A reboot solves everything, but that's annoying.

yes I think that is the problem. when my wife logs in with her account on the MacBook Air M1 and her Apple ID bluetooth only works with errors (forgets Apple Watch and my AirPods Pro too). Only a reboot solves the problem.

My experience is that if yo have those set to connect "Automatically" they tend to become promiscuous and erratic. Setting them up to connect with the last device seems to solve all my problems. I think that Automatic mode is a bit half-baked right now. And you might reset the AirPods Pro's themselves using the obscure button on the back of the case.

Thanks for the tip. I agree, it is feeling a little bit week. I will try it and see if it is more stable.

My suspicion is that they ported the IOS (iPad) operating system back to the Mac (as they did originally the other way around). On IOS user administration is not there. Although there is an education version doing this, it is still not made available on the iPad. I think this was also the cause of the screen saver issue, which is now resolved in 11.2.

I've reported the problem with multiple user accounts and the bluetooth problems via feedback formular to apple. We'll se.
This actually explains many of the issues I've experiencing with my Mac Mini. Didn't first realise it was related to multiple users.
