Sorry, if this is answered elsewhere but I can't find it. Also cannot find info. on the Brother website. My MFC7840W seems to print fine from Big Sur As does my MFC 4410DW. But I used to use some software that made it really easy to scan from any of these printers. It was called "ControlCenter". If anyone has found updated software for this, or whatever the new product is I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance !!

Wups, answering my own question. Apparently Brother iPrint&Scan is the software that works with Big Sur, it's supposed to have more features than the old Control Center. I'm downloading it from the app store right now and will post if there are any difficulties. https://help.brother-usa.com/app/an...r-iprint&scan---windows-or-macintosh-computer

Bad news- apparently the MFC7840W is not supported and my other printer is not even detected by the new software. Any fixes or known work arounds for scanning are appreciated.

With the help of some pals I keep finding a few more "OK" solutions. You can use image capture to scan, it works with the Brother MFC7840W, but not with the Brother MFC4410DW,

I've had similar issues with a HP printer which wasn't supported through HP drivers. After some research i found HP drivers from Apple's website. You could try these drivers from Apple https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1927?locale=en_US
Thanks for this. There must have been some working drivers with Big Sur because I was able to print with both of these older printers, just no scan capability. I did the download on this link anyway.

From the Printer and Scanner menu in system preferences I can scan from the MFC7840W but not the MFC4410DW. It looks like it uses the same interface/software from the Image capture program or Icon. So that is probably what I will be using. With the addition of the printer drivers I can now scan using the Image capture for both printers. So thanks for that !! It seems to be a solution for incomatible/older printers.
