On updating to Big Sur 11.6.1 I encountered the dreaded forced battery management. No problem I thought (oh I am a fool). Two weeks later and the battery had been forced to 1% and my powerbook (mid 2014, 15 inch retina) will not charge and will only run when attached to the power outlet and runs extremely slowly. After getting the pure BS from apple support about my computer needing new apple approved batteries from the apple store. I did an experiment. I spent 18 hours reverting to a Catalina time machine backup and the battery charged. Having spent another 19 hours reinstalling BigSur 11.6.1 and 11.6.2 I am now back to 1% battery. My battery is 6 months old, it is in "good health". I am aware that the 1% issue was a problem with 2016 and 2017 powerbooks on a previous BigSur update and have read apples technical support report on this issue. Is there any third party software that will turn off Apples battery management disaster? Is anyone else having this problem? It is definitely caused by BigSur 11.6.1 battery mnagement.

I experienced this few months ago and solved with SMC reset & PRAM/NVRAM reset.

I should add that I tried all the resets SMC, PRAM etc
