Big sur beta 8 bricking mac on install

Hey guys.

Waited until the latest public beta (beta 8) before trying big sur. It has now bricked my machine twice and has only been able to be remedied by totally wiping the hdd and using internet recovery. The install seems to be going well and then i get this error. Apologies for the screenshot. Anyone have the same thing or know how to fix it?

I have now downloaded the newest public beta 11.0.1 which i have tried as a straight upgrade and also made a bootable usb drive from. On both the attempted upgrade and also a clean install using the bootable usb with a totally formatted drive i encountered the same error as above. This means there have now been 5 versions of big sur beta i have tried to install, in both upgrade and clean install mode, ALL giving the exact same error. Any ideas? This is now 10 installs (2 of each beta).
I don't seem to be able to find other people reporting this error elsewhere which is concerning.

I was initially enthused with a succession of Big Sur Betas, and willing to take a chance. But, I kind of thought it would have less bugs this close to a public, non-beta release. I kind of feel like this Monty Python character....and we know how that ends!
