Big Sur: File name extensions displaying as default?

Hi all, can someone confirm on a clean install of Big Sur, do file extensions display as default, or are they hidden for you?

Not sure if they are on by default - I suspect they are not displayed by default (on a Clean Install) - I upgraded from Catalina and they were already enabled

But they are easy enough to toggle on or off - sames as Mojave or Catalina in the finder preferences

Clean Install here -> “Show all filename extensions“ is off by default...

Thanks guys, I just noticed the extension of an image file is displayed regardless i.e. jpg. This is what had me confused.

Yep. Fresh install here on mid 2012 rMBP and filename extensions are off by default.
