I've gone from freshly installed Catalina (all working fine) to Big Sur with OC and now my MacPro 5,1 won't recognise my wi-fi card (model AR5BXB112), do I need to buy a different card?
I have tried the config file edit Martin Lo suggests and tried OC 0.6.3 wifi fix but nothing is helping.
See attached images of my current card.
Thanks
Craig

Apple removed Atheros AirPort Extreme support long, long ago.

You need a BigSur native supported BCM94360CD card, see the upgrade thread below or if you want to do it on the cheap, buy a BCM94322MC and then install the kext for it. I'd go for a BCM94360CD, 802.11AC, BT4.1 and BigSur native support.

Thanks for the help, I’ve managed to source one from Amazon as you recommend.

If you got a BCM94360CD, you need the Mac Pro adaptor too and not just the AirPort Extreme, see the thread linked.

BCM94322MC is a drop-in, just install it and then add the needed kext.

This is it... where do I find an adaptor?

is this correct: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/123326032203?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28

or if I go for a BCM94322MC are these easily available in the UK?

eBay/AliExpress see the thread, at the end of it people posted inexpensive adapters.

You shouldn't, while it's inexpensive, it's a 802.11n 2xMIMO (300 Mbps) BT2.0 card from 2010 that is not supported anymore since Mojave and it's known to have problems with USB3.0 cables dropping the BT signal.

It's a very common use Apple card and you should find used pulls easily on eBay UK.
