Big Sur Phone-home Issue?

According to the following article over on 9to5mac, yesterday's Apple server outage may have turned up some security issues that, if correct, will keep me off both Big Sur and Mx-based Apple hardware until some changes are made:

Well this doesn’t look good. Downloading Little Snitch now - and staying on Catalina.

That's nothing new. Mojave and Catalina do the same.

Little snitch can block the phone home feature on both but Apple fixed that with Big Sur..
