I need to access a shared folder on G5 PPC running OS X 10.5.8, all computers involved are on my home LAN.
From my two MB Air (one Intel and one M1) running Big Sur the only method I could use was FTP-based, the SMB-based would not connect.
The issue with the FTP-based connection is that I when I use Finder, Go, Connect to server Cmd-K then I have only browse/read access to my OS X folders, but can't write. I chmod 777 my shared folders on G5, but it did not help. When I show the target folder information from laptops it properly shows the user under which I connect has read-write access.
I tried Filezilla and it works well.
Is there a way to find out why Big Sur's Finder does not work as expected?
