Trying to re-install Big Sur with a fresh install from a mounted USB drive by following multiple online tutorials (ex: Link)... but when I get to the step that says to change Security Settings, my Macbook is not showing all options.

The tutorial says the Secure Boot and Allowed Boot Media options need to be changed before the boot drive will work (screenshot below), but some reason when I go into Recovery mode, all I get is the portion below shown in the purple box (not the options shown under it). How can I find these settings?

I don't want to wipe my drive and then discover the boot drive won't work... any advice helps! Thank you!

EDIT: Forgot to mention this is a 2016 Macbook Pro

I suspect that you have a Mac without the T2 chip. If that's the case, your machine will boot from an external device without any problem.

Upon checking, it does not have the T2 chip as it's a 2016. Thanks for the input
