I use Amcrest Surveillance Pro (ASP) to view my security cameras which are connected to a DVR, then linked to the PC via ethernet. ASP stopped functioning about a year ago after a MacOS update. Amcrest fixed it after some weeks went by so it was usable for this past year.

Big Sur 11.3 broke ASP again. Now when I try to open ASP, MacOS brings up a Terminal screen with a lot of messages, but nothing seems to be able to allow it to run.

I've had partial success with Synology's security camera viewer, but it seems only ably to display the first camera, and not the second.

Does anyone else run ASP software? Is there a viable replacement?

harley,

Sympathies for the problems. Amcrest "Support" has been polite, but seems unable to fix the problem. Have you contacted them? Adding your voice might help.

My workaround for the moment is to use VMWare Fusion and Windows 10 to run the Windows version of the Amcrest software. Now I'm having sleep problems - I just switched to an Apple W5700X MPX graphics card. The symptom is that VMWare freezes on awakening and then I have to forcibly (the on/off button holddown method) shut down and restart...

The fun never seems to stop!
