Big Sur won’t log in

Apparently installation went ok but the spinning wheel is taking literally hours at login screen. For how long should I wait? Any advice will be appreciated...

Did you ever get a fix for this? I have tried reinstalling via recovery, followed all the possible steps with phone support but got nowhere. Left it overnight and still just spinning wheel after putting in password....

I went bananas and forced reboot. Luckily, everything works except some issues with Java (expected) and with permissions opening apps (not unexpected).

Hmm... very strange. Surprised not to find more of these issues listed here or on reddit etc....seems like a pretty big issue!

Not really, quite often specific niche software is not frequently updated and easily broken with every big OS update.

The fact that I can't login at all without any such niche software is in my opinion quite odd!
