Big Time Erros while using pwnage tool.

so i created the ispw.. stored it on my desktop.. then i do the process to ender DUF mode, and i get to the end and it says failed. and my iphone doesnt show up on itunes it has an error that i think is 2001. so then i unplug it and do a soft reset and i plug it back into itunes and it says its in recover mode.. so i dude alt option key and restore find the ispw i built and it says error 21.. so then i just restored it to its regular stock functions.. what am i doing worng. btw. i have a kinda new macbook it is not the new one it is the one before that,bought a month ago running 10.5.6

In 10.5.6 you have to use a powered USB hub to go into DFU or jailbreak. Are you using a USB hub?
 
no i did not know about this..
would my xbox 360 hub from rockband work..?
why does this work compared to direct usb.
and if i used my dads windows xp computer to do it could i still sync my songs video and that on my MBP?

I'm not sure about that USB hub, but I think it just has to be a powered USB hub to work.

If you can't get it to work on your mac, then just run pwnage tool on your dad's XP machine and sync it back to your MB after the JB process is finished.

Edit: I think they only have qwickpwn for windows, but its really easy and works well.
 
okay. so after i restore it to jailbreak ispw? just go stragith back to my MBP and sync?
 
Back up any info on the phone you don't want to lose on your MB, and then take it in its non-jailbroken state to your dad's windows machine. Install quickpwn on it and make sure you have the stock 2.2 firmware files on it as well. Run qwickpwn on the phone. Once the phone is fully rebooted and you have cydia and installer on there, you can take it back to your MB and sync all of your apps and contacts again. Then either ssh into the phone or just install mobile finder and get rid of installer if you don't want it. That should be all you have to do.

Qwickpwn installs installer on the phone. Installer is a buggy POS at this point. Cydia is all you need, and leaving installer on there is a waste of space. Some people say that even having installer installed can effect the performance of the phone.

In short, to uninstall installer. (wow, that sounds funny read aloud...)
 
So.. is there anyway that my iphone can get messed up doing this, say i do it wrong.. or something like that? caus emy dad says if i mess it up i dont get a new one.. and i get a flip phone with no texting/internet. ha.
