What is the largest hard drive i can stuff in my intel mac mini?
is there a limit on how much space it can address?

i believe it is currently 320gb...
mac mini's only take 2.5" hard drives, the normal comptuers are 3.5", which are up to 1tb.

could i recommend an extrernal if you were after something bigger in size?? comes in very handy

Yep, the largest 2.5" drives available are the 320GB. And they are pricey!!!! For the same money you could get an external drive in a firewire case with lots more GB's.

Do you NEED for the storage to be internal?

i've started using my mini as a media center, and my external hd's dont really look good under the tv with the mini, TV and Mini are silver, and the hd's are just ugly... maybe i'll get a stacker those look like they match the mini nice
thanks for putting idea back in my head!

Is the Tv on stand? if yes then you can hide the ext. case behind the stand.. :D

The MiniStack 2 can be noisy. I have two of them - one as my Mini's boot drive and the other as an AEBSn drive/hub.

I take it the noise is from the fan in the ministack. I'm wondering just how noisy it would be. I'm thinking of getting a ministack v2 to use with my powerbook as my hub & external drive. If the thing is wailing away on my desk, I would not like that.

Well, when I'm watching King Kong on my Onkyo Dolby Digital surround system, I hardly notice it. :D

It's not too bad - the fan spins up incrementally as the drive heats up.

:D:D:D:D

So, no worse than any other external drive cases I'd imagine...

I still have not watched King Kong
