Just wondering among those of us here, who has the largest number of photos stored on their phone? I guess a lot of people might transfer and delete off the phone but I like to back up but keep most of mine in place (currently at over 6,000 photos and videos, but I’d wager there’s someone who dwarfs my count!).

Only 1209 here but then I usually start fresh whenever I changed phones. So lots more on my iMac-7865 to be precise including shots taken with my old Sony Cybershot.

In my current album (started October 2016) I have just over 31,000. But the originals (except for iPhone photos) are also in LR. I use Photos for sharing albums and viewing photos quickly, and for on the AppleTV. At this point, there is really no slow-down. Not sure what the limit would be.,

I have rolled over an iPhone backup so effectively I have all my photos from mid-late 2015 onwards, undecided if I’ll do so again when it is time to upgrade (assuming I stay with iPhone).

Yes I’m interested to know at what point it will begin causing issues, I mean, considering they’re offering phones with 256GB of storage (and not to mention 512 on the iPads) you’d have hoped they would have tested ultra large libraries out for stability and speed...

I have 4711 photos right now in the photos app with iCloud storage optimisation turned on, so not really sure how many are there on the device right now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just a little over 8,000 atm and I've slowed down quite a bit since I carry my mirrorless with me much more often.

I've got about 30,500 in iCloud dating back to ~2005. That also includes a bunch from work that I really ought to delete. All told, between my wife and I, we are probably in the neighborhood of 100k.

I'm around 53,000 items, 389GB in iCloud Photo Library. Photos going back to 2001 from my first digital camera. Very interesting to see the first years before using an iPhone - all photos were just small sets taken very purposely at an event or trip of some sort, as opposed to now where I think most people take photos daily.

I find myself in the same situation looking at some of the old pictures.
