Bigsur and Videoplayers

Imac 2017 on bigsur 11.1

I have issues with Videoplayers

aka VLC and Plex media player

Videos stutters or just stops playing w/e im running them from a USB device or directly on the mac

So videos will work then just stop and skips in time and repeat this

Which makes also plex un viewable on other devices. I though it was a plex problem until I tried VNC and I have the same issue (w/e I run on the Mac or another device)

Bump. Try updating the VLC to it's newest version (if you are on a M1, there are two successive updates to make it M1 ready). I've had no issues with VLC so far, but I mainly use it as a viewer only.

That shouldn't happen; but could depending on what you're trying to play, and what's happening at the same time.

Do a restart without starting all your usual apps/servers, and then directly play a relatively small video file in a simple format, in VLC.

Does that still cause stutter?
