So as my technological ecosystem is continuously expanding, I've noticed a new phenomenon in where I feel overwhelmed by all of my notifications; not that I get a lot of different notifications but rather the alert on every device of the same notification. If someone sends me an e-mail my macbook pings, then my iPhone, then my Nexus 7, then push bullet send the notification from my Nexus 7 to chrome on my macbook. Then the same e-mail arrives in my mailbox app on my phone and my gmail app. It's an almost ridiculous symphony of beeps and bloops and I've usually addressed said e-mail before all of my devices are finished singing.
I'm not complaining; I realize I'm in total control of the situation. Though I'm more procrastinator than organizer, I could easily select which device gets which notification. When I'm out of the house this is of course not as big of a deal as usually I'm only carrying my phone.
I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this sensation? And what tactics do you use to detour it? Or does it not bother you?
Let me know your thoughts on notification overload.
