Bioshock on topline iMac?

Hi,

Just a question: Will it be possible to play Bioshock (in bootcamp/parallels etc.) on the best iMac (4GB RAM, 2.8 Ghz) with reasonable graphics and framerate?

If anyone could test it on his iMac (also other configs welcome) I would really appreciate it (game isn't working on my PC and I would really like to play it after photoshop marathons)

I'd like to hear comments too. I'm buying 20 inch model with HD2600Pro and I'd really like to play bioshock with native resolution. I wonder if it's possible with decent framerates. It's not possible with Parallels because parallels' doesn't have 3D support but BootCamp might do the trick. At least when ATI releases new drivers.

But bootcamp would be the faster and more enjoyable option as you have total dedicated control of the h/w.

I have the demo.

In Windows XP, using the default bootcamp drivers, with ALL settings high, and native resolution it runs 'acceptable'. The intro with all the fire and stuff, you're getting 15-18ish fps.

If you drop the resolution to the next notch down widescreen, and continue to keep all the settings high, you cant tell the difference (Except MINOR jaggies) and it runs flawlessly perfect.

Or, native resolution with a few settings lower = flawlessly perfect.

I was very impressed.

Just a quick addition to rml's comment. I believe that Parallels currently supports DirectX 8, so newer games might not run at all. Bootcamp would definitely be the way to go for these more demanding titles.

Ditto. Half the time when I boot into boot camp I have graphics issues and the other half is alright. See link to below youtube video somebody in another forum posted. I really hope they fix this soon.

I've got Bioshock for the 360, but if it plays decent on the iMac that's still promising news.
