I have the Birthday Calendar subscription in my MobileMe, but it appears to be empty. I was under the impression that it automatically created calendar events for all the contatcts that you have entered a birthday for. But that doesn't appear to be happening.

So what is it for?

It's for what you just described.

All my contacts that have birthdays in their card show up in Calendar.

In iCal on your main computer go to preferences and make sure show birthdays is selected in the general section.

Open the contact in MM and verify that the birthday field is there and populated. If it isn't then perhaps it didn't sync properly, or if it is then perhaps it's not populating your calendar properly.

OK, this is actually working. The two people that I was looking for birthdays are my parents, and I combined them into one contact. I put their birthdays in as "Dates" instead of "Birthday" because there is only one birthday field.

the birthday calendar is for knowing when you will be spending money.

not really.

I agree - i wish there was a way to view this on the iphone..maybe in a future MM update

I just wish this appeared on the iPhone as well.

Means I have to also use a separate calendar, esp for friends that aren't in the Contact book & their kids.

Yea it should just sync up. Thats anoying.

I guess it depends on how it's supposed to work and IF it's working. Outlook will take the birthday from the contact and add it to the Calendar, so it should sync up like any other calendar item. Don't know how iCal and MM handle it, the same way or just display the BD in the Calendar.

I use Outlook 2007 and it does not do this. I assume there is a option to have it do this. Do you know where it is? Also, if you change the Contact Record Birthday does it automattically change the Calendar?
