Most don't change this.

The bubbles can be changed from within a theme but you would need two pngs files that you would like instead. I have something where they are green and blue squares instead.

There is more info on bitesms themes over at bitesms forums. http://forums.bitesms.com/forums/12

i have the same problem. it seems like a conflict between boss.ios and bitesms. if i disable the boss.ios theme in winterboard, my bitesms themes work perfectly. however, with boss.ios enabled, the main message area is all screwed up

does anyone have any fix for this?

You need to go into the Boss theme itself and either remove or rename the image files that it is using for the message bubbles. Not near a a computer where I can take a look at this but maybe someone else can chime in with the folder path you will need to go to.

thanks! it worked perfectly.

FYI: i renamed both smsbackground.png and smsbackground@2x.png into .bak files. These files are in the boss theme directory (var/stash/themes/boss.theme)
