Edit: fixed in 18.1 B6 and keeps ok with B7

Have somebody face the same problem?

For the first time of owning at first AirPods Pro Gen1 and then AirPods Pro Gen2 with USB-C recent FW update is extremely problematic.
I can be less than meter up to three, sometimes 5 from iPhone and I can get extreme bitrate drop mixed with extreme trash audio completely not following the song I initially had then after a second or two if fixes.
Could not find yet a repeatable cause / trigger for that bug.

Update was made today in background and I had this issue 3 times already on 2 "usage" cycles (so taking Buds from case and playing something).

AirPods FW: 7A305
Case: 70.92.0
iPhone 11 Pro on 18.1 B5

Reported already as FB15298107

have you reset them?

the current version (7a305) for me is been very very good for me. I live in NYC, and the past couple versions would drop out at almost every intersection I walked across. and sometimes take 20-30 seconds to come back. if the phone was in my back pocket, it was even worse. Now they might take a quick hit on a few intersections, so you get a 1/2 second or less of garbled, then they come back. This is what I've seen in previous versions.

I'm on a 16pro, coming from a 15pro, I dont' remember when this version for AirPods dropped, but I think I was still using my 15 with them, and this version cleaned them up quite a bit.

I really don't know why they drop out in intersections, but most people I've asked have also experienced this.

Yes, I had this issue which I can only describe as akin to the sound one might hear in the mid-aughts when a PC would have a BSOD in the middle of playing a song or a YouTube video.

I have since had my AirPods Pro 2 update to the newest firmware preview and hopefully this will not recur.

I'm having the same issue. I noticed it yesterday while mowing the lawn but I thought it was due to listening to music that had been downloaded to my Apple Watch. Today at the gym, I experienced it again while watching an episode on Max.

I'll try the reset procedures posted above. I think I'm close to losing AppleCare+ on them so I need to get it sorted soon.

That’s the best description to that! :D
Looks like it’s a common issue - just a day after reporting it was reviewed and shows more people reported that.

Thanks but it has not fixed the issue.
Tried twice.

I have this on my AirPods Pro2 with music and its even worse if you has a music video playing. with the video you pritty much have to be next to the ipad or sound will break up and it will get out of sync. I have just put it down to the size of the pods and bluetooth reciever/transmitters in them. I have a pair of Sony Wh-1000MX5 and with those connected to the ipad I can pritty much walk around the house and unless I go into the Garage which is thick brick and metal beams before they start to break up.

Yep I've had this issue as well on my APP2 Lightning case. Glad to see it's been acknowledged on the feedback app! It is frustrating!
