Quick question, should I increase bitrate along side with movie length?

Fr example, 2500kbps seems reasons for a movie of 1.5hrs (agree?). Should I increase the bitrate to say 3000kbps for a 2hr movie?

Thanks.

The bit RATE is not dependent upon the overall length. The bit rate used to encode is a measure of the amount of data used for each second of video. Therefore a 1.5 hour movie at 2.5mbps will have the same apparent quality as a 2 hour movie at 3 mbps.

Bumping the bit rate up to 3 mbps will increase the apparent quality of both movies...

But the perceived quality increase may/may not be worth the extra space used. That's a judgment call.
