Rocketing through the sky!
I just installed the new security update on my mbc and now the damn thing wont start up! when i power on, the machine is running, i can feel the hdd spinning etc, and the screen turns on, just it is black or a very dark grey. No apple logo, no "ta-da!" sound....whats going on?! :(

Do i use the Tiger DVD?

edit: YAY! after resetting everything else, resetting the PRAM did it!!

tried the DVD and it won't load it up, although the drive is spinning....

Does the power led keep on flashing, either the power supply has a problem or the ram. I had a similar problem but that was due to faulty ram

I had this exact same problem (albeit now when installing security update). On startup hold Command-Option-P-R until the grey screen appears.
