I'd call it a good deal. Target and Best Buy will also have the D3200 bundle on sale for $499. It includes two kit lenses, the 18-55mm and 55-200mm.

Walmart will have the Nikon D5100 bundle on sale, also with the two kit lenses above for $499.

My wife has the D5100 and loves it. Using the D5100 for comparison, we tested the D3200 and found too much noise in the shadow details. That didn't work for us so we returned it. (Same for the D5200, btw.) And, if it matters, the D5100 has an articulating display while the D3200 does not.

I appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure it's worth the reduction in noise to physically go to one of those zoos on Friday. Amazon from the comfort of my couch sounds pretty enticing.

I wonder if Best Buy and Walmart will have those deals online as well? The Best Buy $499 deal isn't a doorbuster, but runs until Saturday, so I would assume the would also have it online. The Best Buy D3200 deal also includes a free case and 16gb card. I think the Amazon one also includes a card. I agree, shopping at home with a cup of coffee seems much more inviting than fighting the crowds. I have read good reviews for both the D5100 and D3200, so I would probably be happy with either. I asked Santa for one :D
