Does anybody know if I can also use my education discount with the black friday sale?

In the past, it's been one or the other. Last year, as I remember, the Black Friday sale was just like the student discount (in terms of amount discounted). The After Thanksgiving (Black Friday) sale is available to everyone, unlike the student discount.

Also does anyone know if this is going to be an online only sale or is it in the stores only or what. I am wondering if i am going to be able to see the sale prices from home or if i am going to have to drive out to the apple store to see what the prices are going to be?

I think it's lame if you can't stack a student discount along with any 'black friday' deals; is it really that much to ask? Oh well.

Uh either way, you'd still be getting the product at a lower price than suggested. Gee, that is a bit nice.

The problem is, we don;t know what is going to be on sale. Plus, the discounts are minimal and probably are no more than 20 bucks on anything. Apple just doesn't like making less than 1000000000000000000000000...00000% profit, sorry guys. Don't believe me? consider xbox360, it is way better than most of the powermacs (exception of quad..maybe) an is how much less? Three cores at 3ghz (so it is possible stevie! :D ), ram so fast it melted some tires in Japan, and a killer video card. That having been said, the crashing problems are mostly related to over heating. Hey, its not my fault that microsoft can't spell ventilation, but they maybe losing money on these suckers, but no where near 100% of the price. Apple is making so much money on ever desktop, they will never be in the red...ever..especially with the ipod sales. I digress. These discounts are not substantial, and i don't see why they cannot be a bit more than 8.567808765%. Apple is growing, and needs to get a slap in the face with a wet unix manual of business tactics. In other words, making things appealing to the buyer value and price wise. I know I know, the price is worth it, but to some people who can get out of their dark closet to save their lives, $2000 for a desktop machine is ludicris (HEHEHE) when they can get a disposable system from dell for about 1/9 the price. rant-ramble/>

That's one long paragraph... Anyway, the X360's CPU is much different that the one's in the Power Macs. The ones in the X360's are specially designed for gaming only.

"You are one uninformed hound"

Apple's policy in this matter only allows for one discount at a time, whether that be an education discount, a refurbished product discount or a black friday discount.

*snip rant*

See, Apple is a business.
Businesses like to make money.

You're paying for a premium product. It's more than the costs of the parts. There's labor, research and development, advertisement, paying the CFO (;)).

and how did you manage to bring the Xbox into this?
