Yeah I see the your dreams part too. Makes you wonder if this really was a concept and how amazing it would be. Anyone recommend something close to that? It does look good.

I translate it is "Our Company is a joke".

Actually, not really. They painted the iPhone 2G an anodized black color instead of how colorware makes it glossy paint. It was last featured on gizmodo and uncrate.

For the money, I'd get an element case.

What makes this such a good case honestly?

An element case?

Whatever this stuff is it adheres to the shape of the Iphone so you actually are using an Iphone like it was designed, an Element makes the Iphone some huge bulky brick, how is that even comparable?

This is either a joke or a scam, no?

You have to SEND your device to them. Trustingly-ish.

I don't know. Could be real. Couldn't find a review from an actual customer though.

Knight Creations uses the finest raw materials to modify your device.

Customers must send in their device to be customized. After purchase safely package your device and send it into our facility, located:

Jamison, PA 18929 USA

That's actually in my parents backyard. Definitely a family neighborhood.

Yep that address is a residential house. Case looks cool, but I"d have to pass

my understanding is it doesn't just adhere, it completely replaces the back casing and bezel

thatd explain why you have to ship it in

try getting one of these swapped out at the genius bar

I'd consider this if they let me put the casing on myself and they included their own warranty (like ColorWare does).

Looking back through that site, if this really is released, it says it comes with a better battery as well, so $100 seems fair. The company does have a casing replacement for the iPod Touch, so I'm assuming that this should come out by the end of the summer.

It looks like this is a legit company:

The black back replacement for the first-gen iPhone looks pretty nice, this is a big improvement over that, if it's released.

EDIT: I guess there isn't a price on the site. This will probably cost around $1,000 like their last custom iPhone casing.

It takes more than pics of a Photoshopped iPhone and a web page made with iWeb to get me to send my phone to a random dude's house. Where's the real pics of the guy's work? Where's the testimonials/reviews?

I have to say that looking in the sightings section of the website I was seriously doubtful that this quote was legitimate at all...

GIZMODO
Gizmodo gets impressed by our PECVD process stateing: “Weird Plasma Thingamachine Creates the Sleekest iPhone Ever...more beautiful than the original.”

especially when he misspelled "stateing" but the reference is legitimate.

http://gizmodo.com/360046/weird-plasma-thingamachine-creates-the-sleekest-iphone-ever

I looked up another reference on the page to BoyGeniusReport and it talks about the process.

http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/02/24/mad-scientist-will-pimp-your-iphone/

Here's the original article from Uncrate on a phone they sent...

http://www.uncrate.com/men/gear/ipod-iphone/black-iphone-custom/

It would appear he's more legitimate than we'd expect him to be. He's already done surface bonding to the iPhones in different forms. The only problem I have with this is that I have my 3G laser-etched and I know if there's ever a failure (I carry AppleCare on it) that I'd end up with a swapped replacement phone and the effort I made with the case would go away. This is a back cover replacement. How do you get your phone replaced without losing the investment. That's a lot of money to spend to throw it away if a swap happens.

The Kevlar housing will be available sometime in the near future per the email they sent me. It's basically a teaser but it just wasn't done that well.

Yes i spoke with them today. It will be available soon.
If you have trouble departing with your phone and can follow disassembly tutorials fairly well; I would suggest purchasing a DIY kit.
I have verfied that they will be offering DIY kits. And for close to the original iphone custom in price $$$. For reference he clarified the original iphone custom was around $299. For a DIY kit, i did not ask if it would cost less. It would sure mean less shipping though, and not having to part with your phone.

And thats all the info i could gather up. :apple::D

That's for bumping a dead thread from July.
