Black macbook display problem.....

ok, i've had my blackbook for almost a year now, and everything's been fine up until acouple of weeks when i've started to notice slight changes in the display brightness. Something fast, like if you play a little bit with the brightness keys. It seemed to me like a sensor or something.

Well last night i had my blackbook next to my girl's white macbook and i seem to find her display a little brighter than mine. So this is where i'm now SURE there's something wrong with my display's sensor.

Have anyone experience this problem? i'm still under the year warranty so i asume i could send it back to get it fixed.

can anyone orient me here.

My Core Duo MacBook does this too. Its due to the LCD's backlight flickering. It a bit annoying when it happens but it only does it very occasionally, and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

The difference in brightness versus your girlfriend's could easily be the difference between two different makes of LCDs.. I'm not sure about Apple, but a lot of notebook manufacturers opt to use various models/makes of LCDs (whoever can produce them faster and more efficiently and mostly, cheaper gets used first). My Dell 1420 has been found with a Samsung, CMO, and a 3rd and possibly 4th make of an LCD.. all in the same notebook. I'd imagine you're going to find this happening in Apple notebooks as well. If they don't, i'd be surprised!

I thought I had read the MB's (maybe it's just MBP?) have a light meter that will adjust the screen as the day grows darker. There was something to disable this if you wanted..?

Negative, no light meter on the MacBook. I can't speak for the MBP.

no this is not it. I have Macbook and macbook do not have this i believe.

and it's like Reason007 said, it's a little flickering. Like if i'm playing with the brightness buttons rapidly. I'm scare this will get worse and i'll have to send the computer for repair once the warranty is off.
