ok, so I called apple this morning and told them I wanted the 2.16GHz black MacBook with Leopard already preinstalled. the guy who I was talking to said that if i order today or tommorow that it was going to come with tiger and a disk for leopard so I can install it myself. which I dont like. I thought :apple: was know for working out of the box.
How long do you think I have to wait until MacBooks have Leopard already preinstalled?

Of course the frackin' thing will work out of the box, with Tiger. You don't imagine that at midnight on the 25th, an army of Apple employees will open every computer in stock everywhere in the world and reinstall the OS?

No, you get a DVD with your order just like Apple has always done, until the goods that are in the channel that were built 2 - 4 weeks ago, have cleared through and been replaced by the goods built after Oct 26.

If you don't want the trauma of installing the DVD, wait approx three weeks.

Someone on another thread mentioned they were told by a rep. "up to two months." What's wrong with installing 10.5 yourself. It seems that most on these forums prefer to do it themselves so as not to install unnecessary drivers and language packs(bloatware).

And can you name a PC that works "out of the box"? I would like to buy it. Thanks in advance for the link.

Maybe a week?

it all depends really. End of the day, its a big deal to Apple. They cant be expected to hold all orders and wait for leopard. Its ok when there is a new model coming out, but with software, it doesnt make them as much money as hardware.

So its either wait a little longer, or just deal with it..

It's gonna be 2-3 weeks before they all have 10.5. But it only takes like 2 hours to upgrade. So why not just get it now and get an extra few weeks out of it?

Phone the store back and tell them you no longer want one BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO ****ING STUPID TO BUY ONE.
