just got a black MB and i think the lid is misaligned. when the lid is closed, one can see/feel the left front bottom half (the area from the trackpad to the most left) is sticking out a bit. the area around the sleeping light seems perfectly aligned. anyone has this problem? i checked my roomie's 1 y/o PB 12", its fit and finish is perfect.

also, my MB becomes very slow when i use wmp 9.0 for drm wmv files. it actually crashes at times and then the computer shuts itself off (never happened w/ my 6 y/o dell PII 450 winxp pro, so i'm a bit worried). is this because of the gma 950 or because wmp 9.0 isn't universal? when my MB turned itself off, i was trying to watch a wmv file fullscreen. and i was only running firefox (5-6 tabs) and adium at the same time.

other than these two issues, so far i'm loving my macbook (no whines like the MBP, it gets burning HOT tho). i miss the win version of wmp (much more user friendly than the os x version), the DEL button, and the tap=click on my dell and acer. however, os x is beautiful, functional and fun. i was esp. impressed by the whole welcome/registration process. now i'm excited to explore iLife and .mac.

the bend in the screen probably isn't anything to worry about. if you are concerned about it, take it back and ask someone if its bad enough to be replaced.

I think WMP for macintels is terrible at the moment. I manage to play wmvs on my MBP, but i avoid it. i have never had crashes or shutdowns though...

How hot is hot? can you do a CPU temp reading please? CoreDuoTemp is a good app to use.

Your misaligned screen is a very common issue. I had it with my 15" MBP and now I have it withmy 17" MBP. You can tap the right corner with the lid closed and the display will somewhat bounce up and down right?

Nothing much to say, it's just poor design/build. If you ship it to get fixed, it will come back in the same condition. They say that it's "normal."

DEL button is either Fn, Ctrl, Alt, or Command - Delete. Try them all out, I don't have my mac here to tell you for sure.

Go to System Preferences, Keyboards & Mouses, Trackpad. There is an option there for the trackpad click.
There is also a nifty option available only on the MB and 17"MBP for putting two fingers on the trackpad and clicking becoming a right click.

got it - it's fn + delete, thx.

and the tap=click is working great too! AWESOME!! btw, the 2 finger thing works on all mbs and mbps. but it's a bit tricky for me to use the 2-finger right click option, ctrl click is still faster and more "percise."

was gonna try that, but the current flip4mac doesn't support intel based macs. =(

If you ctrl-click on Quicktime and Safari and check "Open with rosetta" it should - or at least that's what I hear.
