Black Screen When Start Up

I updated my early 2013 rMBP yesterday to 10.10.3. Noticed that when I startup the Mac, the screen will be black for about 30 seconds and then show the logo, then to the login screen. Before the update, once I power on, it will show the logo right away, then to the login screen. With the black screen that shows now, it makes me think that there is something wrong with the Mac and I freak out a little.

Does anyone have a similar issue?

The boot up screen for Yosemite is now black. Did you come from Mavericks or just updated from an older version of Yosemite?

a PRAM reset fixed it.

Thanks for the suggestion. This PRAM reset fixed this issue for me. Now I don't have to hold my breath and hoping to see the logo soon.
