Black screen when trying to boot Windows Xp

Hey guys.

Yes, I did a search.

So my girlfriend tried to boot into win xp the other day. got as far as the log in screen twice. got a bsod both times right after choosing user. the third time, didn't get as far as the login screen, didn't get anywhere past a black screen.

It's been at least 2 weeks since we've used winblows and in that time I've added a 2g ram stick. that can't be causing it can it? I have yet to try to boot from the winxp cd(mainly cuz I can't remember what key to hold down)

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. For the record, I'm running 10.5.1

could be the RAM try checking its ok in about this Mac if ok try resetting
the PRAM and you hold down the alt key to boot up in what OS you want

i will try that. i did check the ram and the status is "ok". but would resetting the pram in osx affect the windows side?

i also have this problem sometime. when i press hold option key and select the windows partion. than after the windows xp logo it will go black. not sure.
